Lisburn & Castlereagh get set for the Sport Relief Mile
March 9, 2016
Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council is encouraging local people to don their trainers and take part in the annual Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile on Sunday 20th March at Wallace Park in Lisburn.
Setting off at 9.30am, local people can choose to walk or run one mile to help raise life changing funds for Sports Relief 2016. Money raised will help make a difference to people’s lives across the UK and amongst many of the world’s poorest countries.
Alderman Paul Porter, Chairman of the Council’s Leisure & Community Development Committee said, “The Council is delighted to support the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile and help raise funds for so many worthwhile causes. The event promises to be great fun as it offers the perfect activity for little ones with their mums and dads, groups of friends looking for an activity or even experienced runners wishing to challenge themselves against the clock. I would like to encourage the people of Lisburn & Castlereagh to support the campaign and get active on Sunday 20th March.”
