Lisburn & Castlereagh Council continues to invest in recycling
December 20, 2021
Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council continues to invest locally to encourage recycling and reduce reliance on landfill bins.
Bring facilities at Maghaberry Community Centre and near Dundonald International Ice Bowl have been provided to give residents even more recycling options.
You can bring plastic bottles, pots, tubs and trays as well as glass, textiles and cardboard to our ‘bring facilities’. This is in addition to kerbside recycling and our home recycling centres.
Vice-Chair of Environmental Services Councillor Caleb McCready said: “It has never been more important to recycle and reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill.
“I am delighted with the Council’s continued commitment to and investment in improving recycling options as part of our Local Investment Plan. We are trying to make it as easy as possible for everyone to recycle every day.”
Councillor Sharon Skillen, Chair of Leisure and Community Development added: “I welcome this expansion of the ‘bring bank’ at Dundonald International Ice Bowl. I encourage everyone to do their bit for the environment over Christmas. It has never been easier.
“The Ice Bowl is so accessible to everyone in Dundonald and the wider area. I am delighted to see the Council maximising the use of local facilities to provide recycling points which can operate as hubs for the local community.”
