LCCC Celebrates the RAF Centenary In Lisburn
November 9, 2018
The RAF and its Veterans joined invited guests and members of the public in Market Square in Lisburn on Saturday afternoon to celebrate the 100th birthday of the RAF.
On display was the iconic Spitfire aircraft, which was from the Ulster Aviation Society instrumental in the victory of many WW2 battles, including the Battle of Britain, and the evacuation of Dunkirk.
Adults and children were able to get up close to the legendary aircraft and sit in the cockpit as the brave pilots of the RAF did over nearly eighty years ago.
Memorabilia, exhibitions, video displays and family fun activities were also organised as part of the day’s events.
Throughout the afternoon audiences were treated to musical performances from Dynamic Brass and Drills from RAF cadets.
