Council Visits Local Company to Discuss Its Future Plans
September 26, 2016
Representatives of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council recently visited McCreath Taylor as part of its Business Engagement Programme.
This local business has over 100 years’ experience of supplying Environmental and Municipal Equipment to the Waste Management industry.
Councillor Uel Mackin, speaking about this local business said: “It was great to have the opportunity to visit this long standing business and hear from David and Peter Johnston how the business has expanded since they took it over in 1999. There has been growth in both the self-drive hire vehicle fleet and the sales and service sides of the business.
“I had the opportunity to view each of the vehicle they supply which included scarab sweepers, hook loaders, skip loaders, pedestrian operated sweepers and refuse collection vehicles. McCreath Taylor over the years has supplied mechanical (scarab) sweepers to the Council’s Operational Services in addition to parts and service back-up. On occasion it has also provided specific machine and service training for council officers.
“During the visit I had the opportunity to discuss the programmes the Council has to offer local business and the networking opportunities that are available. David and Peter were encouraged by the fact that all businesses within the Council area can avail of support services from the Council’s Business Solutions Team and that they are not limited to new businesses,” concluded Councillor Mackin.
