Council to Revamp Four Play Parks

The Chairman of the Leisure & Community Development Committee, Alderman Paul Porter, has announced a Council refurbishment programme for four play parks in the City area.

“Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council will shortly begin refurbishment works at Barbour Play Park,” he said.  “Public consultation sessions will then take place to enable community feedback before proceeding with the plans for Ballyoran Play Area, Kilmakee Play Area and Hill Street Play Area. 

“The Council will facilitate the sessions in order to listen to local resident’s views.”

Alderman Porter continued: “Play and recreation development is so important for children’s physical and mental well-being.  The Council is committed to a rolling refurbishment programme for our play parks and has identified these four play parks for upgrade in 2016.

“I hope that local residents will come along to our public consultation sessions and give us their views so that local opinions can be gathered.  The Council will take all views into consideration.”

Ballyoran Play Area      14th June 2016    4:00pm to 8:00pm     At Ballyoran Community Centre

 

Killmakee Play Area      16th June 2016    4:00pm to 8:00pm     At Kilmakee Activity Centre

 

Hill Street Play Area      21st June 2016    4:00pm to 8:00pm      At Bridge Community Centre
