Council supports Care Day 2021
February 19, 2021
Today is CareDay21, a day dedicated to celebrating children and young people with care experience. This includes children and young people who are or were cared for by foster carers, family members and those who live in children’s homes.
The Mayor of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council, Councillor Nicholas Trimble, is encouraging everyone to put their hands up in support of Care Day. He said: "This past year has been challenging for everyone, and particularly challenging for young people in care and young care leavers across our community. These young people deserve to be celebrated every day.
On behalf of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council, I would like to wish all the young people with lived experience of care in Northern Ireland and beyond, a very Happy Care Day 2021."
