Council and Chamber Partnership Helps Local Networking
January 28, 2019
Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council was delighted to host the first of the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Regional Networking Series at Lagan Valley Island.
Over 100 members of the local business community attended this event which was part of a series of five sponsored by NIE Networks to offer businesses the opportunity to network at venues across Northern Ireland.
Delegates had the chance to promote their organisation, engage with new contacts and create new business opportunities during a structured networking session, followed by an inspiring business development discussion with guest speaker, Dessie Roache, Global Commercial Manager at Camlin Group, who shared how the firm has built business on a global scale.
Alderman William Leathem, Chairman of the Council’s development Committee, said: “It was great to hear from Lisburn based Camlin Group which recently announced its expansion plans for their Lisburn Headquarters. This investment will create 298 new jobs, 98 of which I believe are already in place, providing skilled employment in the local area.
“We look forward to working with NI Chamber again in February to host a ‘Buyer Engagement Event’ at Lagan Valley Island. At this event businesses will have the chance to meet representatives from Transport for London and learn about their procurement requirements and pitch across a wide range of purchasing requirements including construction & rail, technology & data systems, corporate services and more.
“I would like to thank the Northern Ireland Chamber for the hard work they do in providing networking opportunities at over 60 events during the year. Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council looks forward to strengthening its relationship with the Chamber through supporting these type of events,” concluded Alderman Leathem.
The next event in the Regional Networking Series will take place on 6 March 2019 at The Guildhall, Derry/Londonderry.
