Council agrees £2 million Community Investment Fund

April 27, 2021

Elected members agreed the council’s £2 million Community Investment Fund at tonight’s Full Council Meeting.  It will assist local community groups with the development of capital projects within the Lisburn Castlereagh area.  A minimum of 50% match funding is required from the applicant organisation.

A £250,000 pilot will open tomorrow for expressions of interest by local communities that wish to partner with the council through this innovative programme.  The pilot is the first phase of our £2 million Community Investment Fund.

Corporate Services Committee Chairman, Alderman Paul Porter and  Mayor Trimble welcome this planned local investment in our communities.  They believe it will act as a stimulus for wider neighbourhood regeneration.

The fund forms part of the council’s 10 year ambitious investment plan ‘Connect-Invest-Transform’.

More information will follow tomorrow on this fund’s £250,000 pilot.
