Carl Packs a Punch at Circuit's Test Day

Champion boxer Carl Frampton met up with the Mayor of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council, Councillor Thomas Beckett at this year’s special Circuit of Ireland Test Day at the Eikon Complex, Maze near Lisburn.

Top rally drivers Stephen Wright from Monaghan, Carryduff based Jonny Greer, Alan Carmichael from Ballymoney and young rising star William Creighton from Moira gave up their valuable time to provide guests with high speed thrills combined with sharp twists and turns under ‘Test’ conditions.

Jonny and Stephen brought their R5s whilst Alan Carmichael showcased his new Skoda Fabia and 18 year old William Creighton who will undertake his first Circuit in 2016 drove his Peugeot 208 R2.

The Mayor, Councillor Thomas Beckett, speaking about the event, said: “It was a fantastic day and I would like to thank the Circuit of Ireland team for arranging it.  The Eikon was a superb location for the Test Day and it was a please to meet the three top rally drivers that took the guests on a ‘high speed’ drive around the site.

“I would encourage people to come along to the Ceremonial Start in Lisburn City Centre on the evening of 7th April and view the rally cars, meet the drivers and hear Flash Harry in concert.”
