Blaris Road Car Park is now open
June 6, 2022
Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council is delighted to announce the opening of the new car park at Blaris Road ahead of the busy summer season.
Alderman Amanda Grehan, Chair of LCCC’s Development Committee said: “I hope the ideal location of this new car park will encourage visitors to use the adjoining Lagan Tow Path to either walk or cycle into the city centre. The car park will also service the restored Navigation House and Stable Block on the Hillsborough Road.”
Local resident Pamela McNeill commented: “The greenway is a well-used amenity and the provision of this car park by the council will help alleviate the issues with parking along the Blaris Road.”
Funded through the Department for Communities’ COVID-19 Recovery Revitalisation Programme, the car park is easily accessible, provides parking for up to 23 vehicles and includes two family parking spaces and two disabled parking spaces. There are plans for the council to install two EV charging points in due course.
