Arts funding available for Lisburn Castlereagh area

Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council is delighted to announce it is offering grants to individual artists, arts organisations and community groups through its Arts Service.  Any funded projects must take place in the council area between 1st August 2021 and 31st March 2022.

Applications are now open online at www.lisburncastlereagh.gov.uk/artsgrantfunding202122 for financial support up to a maximum of £3,000 towards local projects.  Interested parties can apply for one of our three streams before 12 noon on Thursday 8th July.

Individual Artists Grants: to support amateur and professional artists across all art-forms to take part in an opportunity to enhance their professional development or in the delivery of their arts events, projects or activities.

Arts Organisations Grants: to support the formally governed amateur and professional arts sector in the delivery of local arts events, projects or activities.

Community Groups: to support formally governed groups through the ‘Making Art in Communities’ scheme for the direct delivery of local arts events, projects or activities. 

Councillor Sharon Skillen, Leisure and Community Development Chair, welcoming the programme said: “Now is the opportunity for our local artists, community groups and arts organisations to play a key role in the cultural life of the Lisburn Castlereagh community. It is vital we offer them support for their arts events and projects that can improve the health and wellbeing of everyone reached by their originality. I look forward to hearing more about the local projects we can offer support to through to March 2022.

“Over the years, through our arts grant scheme we have supported numerous local artists and art organisations develop their talents.  Community groups have been supported to improve access to arts and cultural experiences to build friendships, reduce isolation and promote integration.  Through such funded creative projects they have brought arts activities to residents across the Lisburn Castlereagh area and continue to contribute to our vibrant economy,” concluded Councillor Skillen.
