Alliance Councillor Takes Up Chairmanship of PCSP

September 1, 2017

Today marks the first day in post of the newly appointed Chairman of the Lisburn & Castlereagh PCSP, Councillor Aaron McIntyre.  As an Alliance Party elected member representing Downshire East, Cllr McIntyre will undertake this role for the next twelve months.

Speaking about the appointment, Cllr McIntyre said “As a member of the Lisburn & Castlereagh PCSP, I am delighted to be elevated to the position of Chairman, in what I consider is a very important role on a partnership which undertakes crucial work across the Council area.  Policing and community safety are at the forefront of ensuring that our citizens live and work in areas where they feel safe and when needed can rely on our local police officers to deliver a first class service.”

He continued “I am looking forward to ensuring that our local action plan which includes key actions such as reducing anti-social behaviour and engaging with the community on policing, are delivered.  We aim to work in partnership with the police to deliver on the Local Policing Plan and monitoring the performance of the police in achieving the targets set.

"I want to reach out to all constituents across the Lisburn-Castlereagh area through our local PCSP meetings organised over the next twelve months. I would encourage you to come along and take part, especially if you want to have your say on the issues affecting your local community.”
