A Focus on Communities at Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council
March 11, 2020
Communities are central to the Lisburn Castlereagh area and the council is delighted to welcome Mrs Louise Moore as its new Head of Communities. This is an exciting time for Louise to join as the council reshapes its team to place communities at the heart of decision making. Through the Lisburn Castlereagh Community Plan, communities will have a real say in how the council and partner organisations shape and deliver better services for everyone who lives, works or visits the area.
Alderman James Tinsley, Chairman of the council’s Leisure & Community Development Committee, said: “I am pleased to welcome Louise to this new position within the council as the first Head of Communities for Lisburn Castlereagh. Communities are central to what we do as a council and Louise has over 13 years’ experience in local government, giving her a strong platform on which to build our new approach to community based services. I wish Louise every success in her new role.”
David Burns, Chief Executive of the council added: “I am delighted to have Louise join our team. Her wealth of experience will support our communities to have the confidence and opportunity to get involved in local decision making.”
Louise Moore, Head of Communities said: “With a background in sociology, psychology, counselling and communications I’m eager to create healthy, educated, safe and supported communities across the Lisburn Castlereagh area. I’m also looking forward to the opportunities that my new team can deliver, especially in areas such as community engagement.”
Louise is married with three boys and when she is not cooking for them, she is entertaining family and friends. She manages to find time to run and while getting fit, she is proud to raise awareness of issues such as stroke, affecting people of all ages. Her next challenge, when she finds some free time, is to learn the piano.
