Statement from Chairman of the Development Committee

Alderman William Leathem, Chairman of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council’s Development Committee, said: “Today’s announcement, for plans for a hotel in Lisburn Square, demonstrates confidence in the development of Lisburn City Centre.

“Tourism growth, ongoing regeneration and new business, in keeping with the Belfast Region City Deal plans, with a potential new hotel right in the City Centre would bring about substantial economic benefits, new jobs and opportunities.  I look forward to this being explored further through the Council’s Planning Committee under its due process and procedures,” he said.
