Smithvale Dog Centre Goes for It
Valerie Stephens took part in the Go for It programme last year to create a business plan for her new business Smithvale Dog Centre.
This family run dog centre is a centre of excellence which caters for all your dog’s needs. The services offer include Dog Walking, Pet Sitting, Dog Fun Park and Dog Agility & Obedience Classes.
Councillor Uel Mackin, Chairman of the Council’s Development Committee, visiting the Centre, said: “I was very impressed with the set-up at Smithvale Dog Centre and all the hard work undertaken by Valerie and her team was apparent. This centre is ideally located on the rolling hills of South Antrim between Lisburn & Glenavy. Situated on 70 acres it offers plenty of land to allow family pets to enjoy their time at the Centre. The Dog Fun Park has an all-weather pitch and a grass pitch and when I visited Valerie had plans in place to fence off a six acre field and create a third grass pitch.”

Valerie added: “I was very pleased with the Go for It programme and found the advice given to be very beneficial in compiling my detailed business plan. As a business with three experienced dog walkers available we can ensure the number of dogs per walker is strictly limited ensuring the best service for you and your pets. At Smithvale Dog Centre our aim is to provide the highest level of care for your pet. We offer a friendly, honest, trustworthy, reliable and professional dog walking and pet sitting service.
“Our Agility for Fun classes are taken by Robin Bates Dog Training Services and our Dog Obedience classes are taken by the renowned Louise Scott from Mallusk Puppy School. We are passionate about dogs and will work with you to provide the best care for your pet.”

Work is also underway for the Smithvale Lodge Boarding Kennels which will be opening at the end of June.
